Training and know-how transfer on transposition of EU Directives in the field of quality infrastructure in Moldova
Project duration:  01.04.2013 - 28.06.2013       

This assignment was implemented by the consortium of "Romanian Bureau of Legal Metrology - National Institute for Metrology"; "Romanian Movement for Quality" and "Business Research Company". The assignment included the follows tasks and deliverables:

Performed an assessment to determine the readiness level of the Moldovan economy and the main obstacles to implement the following EU Directives 

  • The Directive 2007/45/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of September 5, 2007 laying down rules on nominal quantities for pre-packed products, repealing Council Directives 75/106/EEC and 80/232/EEC, and amending Council Directive 76/211/EEC;
  • European Council' Directive 75/107/EEC of  December 19, 1974 on the approximation of the laws of the Member States relating to bottles used as measuring containers;
  • The Directive 2009/23/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of April 23rd, 2009 on non-automatic weighing instruments;
  • European Parliament and Council' Directive 2009/34/EC of April 23, 2009 relating to common provisions for both measuring instruments and methods of metrological control;
  • European Parliament and Council' Directive 2006/42/EC of May 17, 2006 on machinery and amendments operated to the Directive 95/16/EC;
  • Directive 2009/3/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of  March 11, 2009 amending Council Directive 80/181/EEC on the approximation of the laws of the Member States relating to units of measurement.

Performed a regulatory impact assessment of transposing the above mentioned Directives and trained the stakeholders on regulatory impact assessment.

Assisted the Government in developing of draft normative acts in the process of transposition of the above-mentioned EU Directives.

Consolidated the capacity of the Ministry of Economy staff and representatives of the business community to implement the Directives through organization of thematic seminars and trainings.
